This is one of the greatest new ideas we have seen in a long time. Sedona Wedding Services member, Stephen Root of Flag Films, is producing and directing music videos of real weddings. It’s perfect. A bride can choose her song and turn her wedding party into pop stars with a wedding video that will thrill everyone. We have seen nothing like this. Such an original idea. Congratulations, Stephen! We can’t wait to see how MARRYOKE takes off.
We just had to re-post this fantastic photo shoot that appeared on the Savidge Photography blog. The styled shoot was for a feature in the newly created Sedona / Verde Valley Section of one of our favorite wedding magazines, WedAZ. Practically all of the vendors responsible were from Sedona Wedding Services resource guide, and did a superb job pulling this fun project together. The rainy weather did not stop Jessica from getting absolutely gorgeous images. The vendors had a fun “wrap party” after the shoot was finished. And now for something a little out of the ordinary… A couple months ago I got a phone call from the amazing and creative team at Events by Showstoppers in Sedona, AZ. Jim and Ken were putting together a professionally designed wedding scene that was to be featured in the January issue of WedAZ, and they wanted me to shoot it. It took all of a millisecond before I agreed, and went about making plans to be in Sedona. Now really, any excuse to head to Sedona is a good one, but to document the beautiful work of these amazing wedding professionals seemed especially wonderful. The idea behind this shoot is to give brides another look at the gorgeous and lush backdrop that is Sedona. As Jim mentions in the article he wrote “Babbling creekside venues, towering canyon cliffs, famous five star resorts and golf clubs, private ranches and residences are just a few of the great choices brides have at their fingertips”. He couldn’t be more right, Sedona is an oasis of beauty and tranquility, with endless options for a gorgeous wedding day. And just to the south, the Verde Valley is a lush wine country featuring some incredible scenery, and is rich with local resources. When most people think of Arizona weddings, they think of the desert landscape, dramatic cliffs, and canyons. However, this feature is a refreshing look at just how diverse the Arizona landscape truly is. Below are some of my favorite images from our shoot at Dancing Apache. The day after Wendy and Jon’s Sedona wedding ceremony at Merry-Go-Round Rock and Tlaquepaque reception, Wendy decided she wanted a trash-the-dress session with Sierra Blanco Photography. So, Kevin and Tina headed back up the hill to photograph their trash-the-dress shoot. This time, Wendy and Jon brought along their doggie, Riley. The shoot started at the popular West Fort Trail in Oak Creek Canyon then progressed to Red Rock Crossing.
Trash-the-dress sessions are the rage in Sedona. With Oak Creek meandering all through the area, there are literally hundreds of places to take the plunge for those brides wanting to get the most out of every moment of their experience. Sierra Blanco are pros at trash-the dress sessions and know exactly how to get most out of each couple. This shoot was so much fun to see as the day unfolded in these gorgeous settings.
This is what wedding photography is all about. There is not much to say about this image by Cameron + Kelly Studios except…. simply beautiful. The image says it all. The romance, composition, depth, color, the reflections, cake, the glow of the room and the outside-looking-in perspective all come together to make this sensational image taken at L’Auberge.
